Elevation 593 – A Long Time Coming!
North Devon is an ideal location for a great music festival! Or so we have thought for long time.
It seems that anyone who’s anyone these days have their own music festival. And it’s high time that the north end of this great county joined the festival crowd. So, we found the highest point in North Devon that we could get to, and it’s 593 feet above mean sea level, so ELEVATION 593 was born.
ELEVATION 593 is the result of a creative idea from local people with a passion for a party, teamed up with Torrington’s nationally renowned Plough Arts Centre. The creative people at The Plough Arts Centre love a good party and have been involved in producing both in-house and outdoor music events for years now, including great names like Ruby Turner, Midge Ure, Andy Fairweather Low, Fairport Convention, Judie Tzuke and T’Pau, to name a few!
The idea behind Elevation 593 is to establish an exciting, new family event on the North Devon calendar during the Summer. Our first year was a cosy affair, closing with an amazing sound & light show from PINK FLOYD Tribute Act THE DARKNESS but things heated up in year two with the fabulous MUNGO JERRY headlining. Year Three saw some amazing local and wider reaching acts coming to the area, with MAR DOG MCRAE headlining and the amazing SAM GREEN & THE MIDNIGHT HEIST and NUMB, to name only three!
So here we are in our fourth year with the addition of an extra night, a whole bunc of fun stuff (for adults as well as younger ones!) and TWO headline nights!
Tickets will be on sale soon through the on-line booking system and at the box office in The Plough Arts Centre, Great Torrington.
